  Nice place to stop for gas and maybee get some coffe or a soda

  If you're scrambling for a gas stop on the long I40 West stretch, and it's after 5:00, don't even try going here. Everything is closed with lights off, and it looks like something from a murder / horror film. We turned back toward the interstate because we didn't want to die. Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ, for hearing our prayers and carrying our Prius about 50 miles (from Roy's) to Ludlow on 0 miles left. Stay on the interstate; Ludlow is 26 miles from the exit that takes you to Roy's. Worst case, don't call a tow truck. Call your insurance company's support line; if you have emergency service coverage, they will send someone with 2 - 3 gallons of gas ($15 or whatever that goes for in the area), and you will only owe for the gas.

  Great place to stop stretch your legs grab a bite to eat and get gas. The people are always nice bathroom is always clean. People complain because of the price of the gas...but it's in the middle of nowhere, get over it.

  Stopped about a mile east of Roy's on our 2nd day of our RT66 trip. We saw 1 car pass us in over an hour while we watched the sun set to the West. Something very mystical about the tranquility and aloneness on that section. I will never forget that peaceful feeling of the sun going down, the wind and warm 110 degree air on our faces. It rocked

  We drove into Roy ' s after driving through the Heart of the Mojave Desert on our motorcycle last July. They were out of gas, unfortunately, as we really needed to top off the tank. But the stop was worth it, as walking into Roy ' s reminded us of the Twilight Zone episode when the bus stopped at a roadside joint that had been taken over by aliens! You know which one I mean. It was cool inside and a welcome relief.
